Case Study & Normalcy by Oro (PG13)

Fandom: SPORTS NIGHT
Pairings: Dan/Jeremy, Jeremy/Natalie.
Author on LJ: [livejournal.com profile] warlordkittens
Author Websites: http://oro.incipience.net/ (art & fiction), http://www.fanfiction.net/u/72562/ (fanfiction).
Why these must be read:

Okay, so they're totally separate stories and I get that, I really do, but the first time I read them I thought they were sequential. They are eternally linked in my mind, and so shall they be in yours, dammit. Both woefully short (shame, Or!). But juicy. Yes, juicy like the gum which is also fruity.

"Case Study": Wherein Jeremy and Dan have a past and it is guh-lorious. I love Casey's obliviousness and Dan's utter panic. Primarily Dan's pov.

excerpt:

But Jeremy is the new guy and they never talk about it, because Dan has the advantage of more years with the Sports Night crew. He can't help thinking, though, that some backup wouldn't have been too out of line, when he's reminded that he is the only person who has something against this guy no one's even heard of before the day he started working for CSC. So instead he just staples Jeremy's things together in a juvenile impulse, which by all rules makes them friends. And he so, so doesn't want to be Jeremy's friend.

/excerpt.

"Normalcy": Wherein Jeremy is a dirty, dirty adulterer. And he's got this blank lack of guilt or even thought that I find really interesting (some might find it out of character) and, well. What boy isn't his father's son? The last paragraph hits like a drabbleriffic sucker punch. Jeremy's pov.

excerpt:

Jeremy would find himself, oftentimes, staring somewhat blankly, somewhat longingly at the television screen while the show is on, when he should be working. He would find his glance constantly fixed on the lights and colors, and a certain face, and he would be unable to look away. His eyes would search for those places wet with his own kisses, possible signs of his betrayal on Dan's collar, his skin, his expression. Natalie would look at him worriedly, affectionately, giving his arm a light squeeze. He would smile back apologetically and go back to researching information for the next fill.

/excerpt.

Without further ado: Case Study and Normalcy.

ps: Feedback. It's easy on ff.n, there's a review tool my puppy could use.
