Why this must be read: It’s beautifully written, capturing Ryan’s first time with many of the characters from the first season - from Theresa to Seth. It puts a whole new meaning to first time.
She needs this, he knows, needs to finally feel like she’s forgiven, for all the fighting and yelling, manipulation and back-stabbing, for her all her problems that she blames him for, for Oliver and Luke and for the hundred or so little things she does every day that make Ryan constantly wonder what he’s doing with her.
It’s her way of saying she’s sorry. Marissa uses sex as currency to make people like her, as revenge, as apology, as everything but love, and Ryan can’t really blame her for that. She doesn’t know how to use it as anything else.
After all, her mother is Julie Cooper.
