Half Truths by Lee the T (NC-17)
Fandom: THE MAN FROM U.N.C.L.E.
Pairing: Napoleon Solo/Illya Kuryakin
Author on LJ:

Author Website: none
Why this must be read: I'm a sucker for a vulnerable Napoleon. I don't want him weak, just emotionally compromised. Maybe because so little of that was shown on the show. Whatever the reason, I was happy to find exactly what I was looking for in this story. Lee does a wonderful job of allowing us to see that side of Solo when circumstances first give him everything he's desired and then takes it away from him. Illya is in for his share of heartbreak, too, but I've read that so often it's not the unexpected pleasure that reading an exposed Napoleon is. Add to that a well-executed and intriguing plot and you have a story well worth reading. I originally read the zine edition so the difference, in this case the original form, was an added bonus.

And even better, it's pointed the way to an archive I didn't know existed!

BTW, I love your icon (I have the pic in b&w but have never seen the coler version.)
Wow!
(For those who care, all my stuff is actually at File 40 -- www.file40.net; I just haven't gotten around to getting it to The Madhouse yet.)
