Why this must be read:
Not only one of the most realistic depictions of where the infamous triangle could end up, but also a damn fine sketch of Kate at her most manipulative, darkest self. She gives you chills here, and what's so great is that it's all from Sawyer's POV; he knows the score, yet still surges ahead. Fabulous, fabulous stuff--everyone needs some dark!Kate now and then.
And Kate, smart Kate, would only be the devil straddling the Doc’s shoulder, whispering words of war in his ear. She’s too intelligent for the Doc; she knows when to press and to pull to her advantage, how to play people like they’re tin soldiers she can line up to do battle for her. In her, Sawyer recognizes something that he’s seen in others: the inability to be truly happy unless fucking with someone’s head.
