Why this must be read:
An interesting post-Generations meditation on the relationship between Spock and McCoy, and how it might change after their long-time friend Kirk is finally gone. The setting is interesting (Arizona) and well-drawn, and its dry, stark beauty informs much of this story. The tale wanders from low-brow humor and bar fights into much deeper waters, all the while sustaining itself and building a credible backstory for McCoy. Well written, and well worth reading.
