crack_van | Golden by CJ and Reetchick (NC-17)

I've been waiting about a year to drive the van for Smallville, so I'm very excited about this. I'm going to try to rec a variety of things, including a few authors who don't get as much exposure. Week 1, a few classics - fics I can read again and again and they always hit my buttons.

Why this must be read: It's College!Fic that has Lex taking Clark to Metropolis for Orientation. Complicating the course of true love are an overly-friendly Orientation Partner (who's convinced Clark could use a little help with orientation of another kind!), and Clark's alien physiology, which decides to kick in when least convenient, but after many misunderstandings, confusion, and confessions ... a happy (gloriously smutty) ending awaits! It'll leave you positively glowing. *G*

And it's got possibly the best Possessive!Lex scene ever:

Jesus Christ. Clark was out in Metropolis' red-light district half-naked and shoeless. Lex checked his watch; it was quarter past midnight. The Ferrari was downstairs and it was late enough that he'd be able to blow every light between here and Chancelry.

"Clark, I'll be there in ten minutes. I'm bringing a shirt -" he paused to grab a white button down shirt from the front of his closet, "and I'm leaving right now. Just don't move, Clark, all right?" ...

There were a few seconds of nothing but breathing and gear shifting, and then, "Lex? There's a car coming. It's slowing down."

Fuck. Fuck, fuck, fuck, and nothing was going to happen in ten minutes, right? What could happen in ten minutes?

"It's stopped. A guy's getting out and coming this way."

"Just - don't let him touch you, Clark. Don't let him get near you." Lex stepped on the accelerator and watched as the needle edged farther past the speed limit.

I stopped watching Smallville about a year ago, and stopped reading fic as well. But you just made me read this entire fic in one sitting, grinning like an absolute fool the entire time. Possessive!Lex is so awesome.

Yay! It's always nice to be able to lure someone back to the fandom, even if it's only for one great fic. And yeah, Possessive!Lex definitely hits my buttons. Another nice story along those lines is:

Fantastic start to the month! :) I can't wait to see what else you rec, because if this is just one example of things you have to offer? Wow.

Brilliant fic, though. We had to go out to dinner just when the angst was kicking in slightly after the smut, unfortunately, but the ending alone was worth that slight wait. Loveloveloved it. :) Thanks for a great read this evening.
