This story is a AU of certain Season 3 events. Vecchio is undercover and finds out that Fraser is being beaten by the mobsters that he currently is infiltrating. It deals with his urge to do anything to try and help Fraser, while wrestling with possible consquences of being discovered.

Throughout this story you really do feel Vecchio's pain as he tries to comphrehend the situation. He can't leave his friend behind, and you just hope that he doesn't.

I've read this story many times and plan to reread it soon, thanks to your rec. It's very powerful, suspenseful and still sends shivers down my spine. I also appreciate that there's no character bashing. It's mainly a story about Fraser and Vecchio but Kowalski is favorably portrayed, and there's no animosity between the two Rays. Excellent choice!
