I like this story for two reasons. First, it shows a slight caring side to Thatcher that fics really never portray. Secondly, it shows a more emotionally loose Fraser than we on the show. This fic takes place after Buring Down the House and deals with Fraser losing his best friend.

Excellent choice. I've never been able to accept that Fraser didn't think about Vecchio after he was gone and that he became friends immediately with Kowalski. There had to have been a period of adjustment, and the transition didn't happen overnight. This is one of the few stories I've read that addresses this issue. I, too, like the way Insp. Thatcher is portrayed. She does have a soft side under her no-nonsense, professional exterior.
