Why this must be read: I actually stumbled on this by accident today as I was searching for more stuff to rec. And wow, am I ever glad that I did. Again, anyone who knows me knows that I LOVE AUs. This story is set at in an AU in season two in which the neural clone is prevented from calling Scorpius, so that Aeryn doesn’t die, the chip doesn’t fall into Peacekeeper hands, and the crew doesn’t meet the Pathfinders. But thwarting Harvey does have a high cost and post Liars, Guns, and Money.
scaperred does a wonderful job of using an original character to narrate the story and illustrates John's chip-induced insanity well. John's relationships with his friends are detailed enough that tissues for tears are needed during the read (IMO). In all, the story evokes the heart of Farscape in how John can cause almost anyone to sympathise with his plight and how the loyalty of Moya's crew only serves to reinforce that.
