It is slightly annoying that she spells House's first name "Gregg". (Or is this the real default spelling and I've been getting it wrong all the time?)

No, I think it's a personal quirk of the author's, and I can understand why you find it slightly annoying. But I enjoyed this fic enough to forgive the occasional flaw.

There was a point in the fandom history where it actually seemed like that might be how it was spelled, although there was a vast amount of debate. We'd seen the shortened form of his name written out once on the screen (in Maternity), but the problem was that it was handwritten and that made it hard to tell exactly what was going on with the spelling. It could have been "Greg" or "Gregg" or even "Gregsquiggle" which won my poll on the subject by a handy margin, actually. A lot of authors sincerely believed it was Gregg--I even hesitated before finishing up my first fic, and mostly went with Greg because the person I was writing it for preferred that version.

Eventually we got more material, and sides, and the second 'g' proved to be incorrect, but there are a number of older fics that still reflect the fandom's early uncertainty on this.

"Gregsquiggle" has since been advanced as a theoretical extremely obnoxious pet name, though this has no canon support whatever.

Gregsquiggle would be cute, but I would anticipate vast and complex revenge from House if Wilson used it where House could hear.

Thanks so much for that clarification. I read widely, but I don't get actively involved in many fandoms, as I don't have a lot of time online. So I was unaware of the early issues in House, but now that you've pointed them out, I'm going "Well, of course that would have been a problem!"

While I have your ear... I've enjoyed your work in House too, very much. I know I haven't left a comment, but it's nothing personal. I usually only get an hour or so online at a time, so it's spent madly downloading fic. I have recced you more than once on my personal rec community though, rec_room. Thank you for sharing your work. It's given me a lot of entertainment and joy.
