Why this must be read:
Lt. McKay shacks up with Lt. Goldman. This is canon, people. There’s a housing shortage on base. Uh huh. The two young officers fight like cats and dogs, but Sgt. Anderson’s apparently read enough fan fiction to recognize the symptoms of UST. Overcome by jealousy, he visits Chez Goldman-McKay and resolves a lot of his own tension. Oy vey!
In canon, McKay and Goldman have a love-hate, push-pull relationship, and I like the way the author gets this across. And I like the way Anderson is characterized. His voice is clear. It’s a PWP, sure, but his personality, his maturity, and his understanding of human nature are evident. Goldman’s no match for his wily old platoon sergeant. Youth and endurance will always be overcome by old age and trickery.
