EH absolutely skewers slash conventions and does it in a way that'll leave you howling with laughter (or at least giggling!). I love this story, and it really cannot be slotted easily into either slash or gen. It's not a parody, either, because everyone is perfectly in-character throughout the story, and EH makes you believe that the events described within are plausible. You can almost see this happening - except that it wouldn't. Except that maybe it would.
