Why this must be read:
While exploring an abandoned dumbwaiter in his penthouse apartment, Napoleon discovers he can observe Illya living a few floors below. Innocent curiosity about his partner's reclusive habits leads to obsessive voyeurism as Napoleon finds himself saddened by Illya's isolation, and aroused by Illya's energetic masturbation sessions. He begins to wonder if Illya could use a little help...while Illya becomes increasingly suspicious about the strange noises coming from behind the walls.

Sizzling and funny and touching, with some wonderful witty dialogue during the much-anticipated denouement. Curiosity may have killed the cat, but Napoleon proves to be more nimble than the average feline.

I read it ages ago on line and even send an e-mail to the author who told me this story costed her a lot of work and got almost no feedback. I was surprised because it's very hot and well written. If I remember well, I defined it as a wet dream come true! (I should have been in my lewdest mood at the time!).

Zine stories in general don't get that much feedback, at least in my experience and from what others have told me. Maybe people think that paying money for the zine is a kind of 'feedback' - or they give general comments to the editor/publisher instead of the writers. I think there is more 'feedback' going on at cons...but if you don't attend them, then you're dependent on written feedback :(

It is a real shame. All the more reason to put stories online.

Do you think online stories get more LOCs than zine ones? I think it is about the same.

Hmm. By LoCs you mean feedback addressed to the writer from people who did not help with the story, right? Not editors, beta readers, friends etc?

I can say for sure that the story I wrote for the 'Down the Chimney' challenge received much more feedback than any story I have published in a zine. The short story I wrote for the 'Red' challenge years ago received more feedback than any zine story too. I'm sure that the ease of leaving feedback in LJ [one click, no cutting and pasting email addys] has a lot to do with it.

I think it went up at the time Lionheart stopped selling MfU zines. I'm glad it did - such a shame there aren't more zine stories going online as well.
