Why this must be read: When three of our heroes manage to get themselves inadvertently committed to a mental institution -- kind of understandably, really -- it's up to Farscape's resident genuine crazy person to get them out again. The result is an all-around delight of a story, featuring some splendid dark humor reminiscent of One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, but in a highly original and entirely Farscapean style.

An excerpt:
She inhaled sharply, allowing the hulking guard to escort her to the visitor’s area. John, clad in paper clothes and slippers, was waiting for her there. He looked more frazzled than she’d ever seen him. An air of frantic insomnia hung around him, almost as palpable as the aroma of institutional soap.

“500 microts,” the guard said, making an increment of time sound like a threat. Still, he dutifully trotted off, giving them a modicum of privacy.

“Hey.”

“Hey.”

“How are you holding up?”

“Not good. Any luck finding us a way out?"

"How can they justify keeping you in here?" Aeryn scrutinized the human. If she hadn't known better, she might have thought Scorpius had reinstalled the chip, so far had Crichton fallen.

"It's Harvey. He doesn't want to leave, so he bugs me at the worst times - you know, evaluation hearings, group therapy, the middle of the night."

"'Doesn't want to leave'? Why the frell not?"

He shot her his get-a-load-of-this look. "He likes. The medication."
