Why this must be read:
I'm intrigued by the character Bel Thorne and also by the implications of having a third (hermaphroditic) sex to deal with in society. I wish LMB would write a book with more on this theme, but until then, I'll have to make do with stories like this one. You could class this as sort of a holiday story set during Miles' time with the Dendarii Mercenaries, but the story is slashy, especially at the start.

Oh, I was hoping you would rec this one, because it was written for me for Yuletide 2004 and I love it to pieces. ^_^ I'm such a Bel fangirl. And I also wanted to say thank you for all the wonderful Vorkosigan recs you've been giving - I've read most of them before, but I didn't know about the extra scenes/snippets for the A Deeper Season 'verse. *gives you a respectful analyst's salute ala Miles*
