One for Sorrow, Two for Joy by Susan (NC-17)
And now from angst-free to super-angst, from a new master of Starsky & Hutch hurt/comfort. . .
Fandom: STARSKY & HUTCH
Pairing: Starsky/Hutch
Author on LJ:

Author Website: Sjames_centre's Journal
Why this must be read:
In “One for Sorrow, Two for Joy” the hurt is multi-layered, as Susan interweaves the case of a missing child with Hutch’s troubled past. As their frustration with the lack of evidence builds, Hutch’s grasp on reality begins to disintegrate, and Starsky must struggle to understand and comfort his old friend but new lover. Susan brings a fresh perspective on well-visited themes in this fandom, creating a vivid, moving story in which pain defies easy resolution and love isn’t always enough.

My only frustration is that I keep thinking I haven't recommended this story strongly enough. But at least I managed to become slightly more coherent than my initial reaction which was to mumble wow. A lot.
