Rain by Casper F. Joke (PG-13)
Fandom: FARSCAPE
Pairing: John/Aeryn
Author on LJ: Unknown
Author Website: Unknown; author's works archived on http://www.terrafirmascapers.com
Why this must be read:
This is a short little story, but it beautifully describes the love and attraction between John and Aeryn. The author is very good at saying everything with a few well chosen words, saying as much between the lines, anything else. All and all, it is a lovely little romantic piece.
John licked beads of water from his lips as he watched Aeryn--- dressed in his sister's silver grey coat--- tilt her face to swallow the deluge. Her tongue was the only colorful spot in the dim scene; all else was rain and shadow, ebony hair fall and shades of sylvan.
She caught him watching her.
There was water dripping from his chin, one continuous fleck, as she slowly turned to face him. Her hair streamed glossy satin, her eyes like water washed stones. Blank. Hopeful. Determined. Furious.
She stalked across the tiny clearing in the path, the rain parting like beaded curtains.
One hand slammed into his chest.
