Why this must be read: The future fic is one of my favourite things in Smallville fandom; I just adore the way authors negotiate comic book canon when they fast forward the Lex and Clark we're given in the tv show. This wonderful story by Esse gives us a slightly wistful Clark, a bemused Lex, and is, in short, an utterly charming glimpse of their future.
