Why this must be read:

This one is a beautiful character piece about John, right after he makes the deal with Scorpy and is about to head out to save Aeryn from the Scarrans. It is a perfect piece exploring John's utter devotion to Aeryn and the fact that he would send the whole Universe to hell just to save her. In addition, it brings in the idea that MoyaJohn and TalynJohn were the same and yet, not the same at all. In short, it is a great story, well written, thoughtful, and thought provoking.

Having finished with the preliminaries, they continued to look at each other, blue eyes examining blue eyes. As the time stretched, both men nibbled on one thumb. Finally, St. John broke the silence. "Are you really going to do it?"

"Frell over the universe for Aeryn?" John breathed deeply and then admitted, "Yes. At least, I'm afraid I am."
