I think I've recced something by

traveller every time I've been behind the wheel of the van. I love the way this fic captures a kind of longing on Viggo's part for something that he used to have; something that Elijah has a bit of now. I enjoy the way New York is portrayed, like a character in its own right (and that's one of this author's talents -- taking cities, places and atmospheres and making them absolutely integral to the story). It's a fic that feels bittersweet without being either bitter or sweet. It's not simple, that's for sure.

Viggo's thinking about being twenty and getting fucked in the bathroom at Irving Plaza during a Tom Waits show; he's thinking that there was a time when slumming had its own integrity. His hands are unbuttoning Lij's jeans.
