Jack/Bill was the first pairing I actually saw in the movie (besides canon), and the only slash pairing I can really believe in, although I like others. I also have a big soft spot for Bootstrap survival fic, so....

Why this must be read:

Vera Dune takes the loophole that could allow Bootstrap Bill to live and makes it work, as well as making a Bill who loves his family and Jack plausible. She also writes a spot-on Jack-voice, which I think is one of the most difficult things to get right in this fandom.

What Jack and Bill are really talking about is left between the lines, and the whole story is beautiful and deftly done.
