Anna is fairly new to the Farscape fandom and in Break she proves that she gets the characters, particularly Aeryn, in this season 3 fic. The prose is beautiful and spare, and cuts deeply while managing to avoid gratuitous angst. You feel Aeryn's pain and hear the words as if they were truly her own.



A man on a beach told her there are days before it hurts. He told her to embrace them, and enjoy them, and let them carry her away.

She was raised in order and control, but flying can be a lot like falling, so she let herself go.

She's hit the bottom before, felt ice and daggers and water in her lungs. But she never had to watch everything freeze over.

And Dregon never told her what to do after the hurt.
