Why this must be read:
This is a piece about chess, stradegy and knowing the abilities of your pieces. IT's both a lesson and a warning and shows exactly why Scopius and Crichton are perfect foils for each other. It shows that Sikozu, while very intelligent, isn't always smart and that both Scorpius and Crichton have both intelligence and smarts. It's a short little piece that's pretty much all dialogue and at least for me makes me wish I understood chess more, or that the author did (which I asked about and they claimed their ignorance) to write a Crichton-Scorpius sequel.
