Why this must be read:

Terra Firma was the one S4 ep that generated one of the highest amounts of fanfic. There was much speculating and filling-in-the-blanks by the fandom, but rarely do we get to see this kind of character rationale. This is the John Crichton we all know and love/hate. This is the man who, at this point and time, has to make a very hard choice and finds out it's much easier than he thought.



He's forgotten how sheets feel when they're cool against the moonlit sky. He's forgotten that bedding doesn't chafe old scars, doesn't suffocate in the grips of nightmares. He's forgotten what it feels like to put chilled feet on the softness of carpeting. He's forgotten feather down pillows fluffy against his cheek.

He's forgotten a lot of things now that he's back. Earth is a dream, even if he's here.
