Why this must be read: So many characters in Highlander make a brief appearance and a lasting impression. With some, we're fortunate enough to have a bit of backstory via flashbacks. With others, their history must be inferred or invented. The writers of the DVD snippets, supposedly from Watcher records, had their own fun with the characters. We have ours.

Haresh Clay, from West Africa, and Carter Wellan, from England, are companions who rode side by side for 900 years. In this sensuous short glimpse, DevilChild  paints a picture of their coming together.

Thanks for noting your name. I'm afraid I wasn't eloquent enough in describing your story. It filled the need for these characters (Wellan as blond angel--ah, yes!) most satisfyingly.

I love the tiny historical details of this piece. An Immortal who's never held a sword, because commoners aren't allowed. Wonderful how they met, and I had to admire Carter's bravery in releasing Haresh and giving hium back his sword.

That final sentence created a picture in my mind that hasn't yet faded.
