Why this must be read:
Ordinarily, I would never have clicked on a link for a story like this. One of my major squicks is SM and I usually hate darkfic. But I did click on the link back when I was in my voracious "must read everything about my OT3 evah" phase, and I am so glad that I did! This is not a happy story by any strech of the imagination, but I feel that it is a nessesary story. As Hth puts it in her summary "This story is about arrangements. Sometimes, in a relationship, you have this Arrangement, that theoretically helps you get the things you want without sacrificing any of the other things you want. Sometimes it works. This story is about when it doesn't work, but you keep on pretending that it does, because it's the Arrangement." It rips my heart out and puts it back together every time I read it. Even if this is not your cup of tea, I feel it deserves to be read anyway, because it is NOT about the sex. It is not about the BDSM. It is about a broken Vecchio who just wants to feel. It is about Fraser, who really wants to be angry with someone. And it is about Kowalski playing the middle man and loving them both so damn much. This is a story about emotion, raw and true.
I can almost hear the dangerous arch of his eyebrow. I turn my head just a little -- yeah, there it is. Do I know him, or what? "You know I would never hurt Ray."
Yeah, Benny, whatever. In your head, you always go straight from your passion to my pleasure. You just edit out all that pain that works as the middleman. Not me, though. I love you for your strong right arm, my Benny. No one else ever hit me like you do, no one ever could.
