DC Comics/Smallville (NC-17)

Title: Reconcilable Differences
Pairing: Clark Kent/Lex Luthor
Author on LJ: [livejournal.com profile] astolat
Author Website: Fanfic by Shalott
Why this must be read:

I was so excited to find that no one had recced this story yet. Reconcilable Differences is an absolutely brilliant novella-sized story (a little over 40,000 words) that seamlessly mixes DC Comics and Smallville canon. But isn't Smallville based on DC Comics, you say? Well, yes and no. For one thing, even Smallville wasn't crazy enough to come up with the main character of Reconcilable Differences-- Kon-El, aka Kon, aka Lex Luthor and Clark Kent's cloned half-alien lovechild. No, I'm not kidding. Yes, that's DC Comics canon. *g*

Shalott takes Kon and his best friend, Tim Drake (the current Robin) and throws them into the middle of the Smallville universe. The results are fascinating, endlessly entertaining, and perfectly in character. Also, Batman gets the best supporting appearance ever.

That's not being mean, I wonder why that is happening, it shouldn't be, we're not commenting to your post anymore. Is this part of that new tracking system?

I would like to point out that this is stated in my user info, thus indemnifying me from such personal attacks. Holy shit, I spelled that word correctly? That never happens!

Of course you are! You give me Sam's ball of angst! Have you seen Dr. Who yet?

It truely is a wonderful story. And there is even a teeny, tiny sequel "Vacation". I love that story so very, very much and live in hope that she will one day write more in this universe.

And now I can say I read this until 2:00am instead of studying, but it was totally worth it because it's absolutely AWESOME. Haaaahaahaha, Batman. xD
