All this Season of Snow and Sins by Cherry Ice (PG)
Hey all! I'm Kathryne and I will be running the Crack TARDIS for Who fandom this month. I am a fan of selective bits of old school Who (read: whatever I've had time to see) as well as new school, and my very favourite thing is when the two overlap, so expect some of that this month. I'll do my best to switch things up now and again, though.
Fandom: DOCTOR WHO
Pairing: Romana/Jack
Author on LJ:
cherryice
Author Website: Cherry Bombs v4.1
Why this must be read:
I have absolutely no shame about reccing a story I beta'd, because I think this is one of my favouritest Who fics ever (and I honestly didn't have much to do with it, so there). *g* Not only does it boast stunningly lyrical prose, it features lovely characterization and world-building. Cherry takes two AU questions - "What if Romana wasn't killed when Gallifrey exploded" and "What was Jack doing at the Time Agency before he lost those two years" - and brings them together in a glorious piece of writing. Romana is bright and haughty and possibly a little bit better than everyone else; Jack is sexy and charming and cares very much for the people under his command. Add in the partial setting of Paris 1979 and you've got a true gem that anyone familiar with either character will love. (I can't quite believe it hasn't been recced before, but I checked the memories, so I shall just consider myself lucky.)
You can't fight a war, because the war always wins.
