Why this must be read:

It's a little weird to rec a Round Robin fic with me participating in it too, but this is just worth the rec, and seeing that we all liked to write the fic, it deserves more attention.

This was the first unofficial round robin at [livejournal.com profile] ncis_gibbsducky. It's not just slash. It has GEN and HET in it as well.

This is the perfect example of how one story can lead to another.

It all started with Ashleigh Anpilova's ([livejournal.com profile] nakeishaIt Was In His Voice, which has Jimmy noticing and musing about the relationship between Gibbs and Ducky.
Then [livejournal.com profile] periwinkle27 asked for permission to write the same story from Ducky's point of view, but ended up writing Gibbs' POV instead. So, Discovery was born, Gibbs noticing that Jimmy made a startling realisation.
Ashleigh Anpilova then continued the story with Oh, Dear, and it has Ducky realising that Jimmy made a startling realisation. And, she wrote DiNozzo in denial in part 4, Impossible
And then, and this is kind of awkward, I wanted to write Abby. Or anyway, the relationship of Gibbs and Ducky noticed by Abby. Body Language was born.
On a 'need to know basis' by [livejournal.com profile] periwinkle27 followed after that, written from Jenny's point of view. An annoyed, curious Director and she's spot on.
Will he never learn? by Ashleigh Anpilova followed. It has McGee wondering why DiNozzo can't see what's so obvious to him.
And then... the SURPRISING part of the round robin. I can't say why it's surprising, just that it's amazing, and very well thought of by the lovely [livejournal.com profile] feenixandashes. It's called Witness.
[livejournal.com profile] lonelywalker wrote a brilliant Ziva after that in Davka.
Something in the Air by Ashleigh Anpilova was the closing fic of the round robin, which has Gibbs and Ducky realising that maybe Jimmy wasn't the only one noticing that the two men are in a relationship.

All the girls - I'm not talking about myself here. That's weird - are brilliant writers, with brilliant minds and an inspiration that just won't stop (they might have a plot bunny farm). Every single part of Noticing is as brilliant as the fic it all started with.

I was on edge that day. Close to exploding. But the team couldn’t tell. I hid it. Except from Ducky. I can’t fool him. Can’t even try anymore. There’s no point. He knows me so well. Ducky knew I was wound up. So he began one of his stories. I know the team thinks he just rambles on. Sometimes it exasperates them. But I take comfort in them. Not that I always listen to them; I’ve heard the tales too many times already. They wash over me though like the ocean waves and I know Duck is with me. So he can tell his tales, and I can ignore them, and we understand the real message is ‘You are important to me and I care for you.’ It’s as close as two men can get to declaring their love in public and we are secure because the team sees what they want to see. They miss the rest.

Would you please use an lj-cut or something?

Wow, I'm on a roll here.

I agree with you that everyone's parts were excellent. Wasn't it interesting how the project took on a life of its own?

I really enjoyed this 'project' and I'm still amazed at how it just spawned and grew all by itself.

It couldn't have happened without the team effort. I'm so proud of us all.
