Why this must be read:
What was Illya like during the fifteen year gap when he was with Vanya's? Did he have good or bad memories of his time with UNCLE?

This is a fascinating, angsty look into Illya's mind as he thinks back on those years of is life. Eren gets all the little details that make a story just right, such as "Vanya" wearing a chunky watch to hide the scars on his wrist. This was her first Man From UNCLE story, and it's a winner.

For a moment, he missed the weight of his Special snugged under his arm, the assurance that others had watched over his home in his absence. The knowledge that help, should he need it, was only a pen’s reach away.

I was just getting ready to let you know this rec was here, although I know you're a member of Crack_van. That was fast.

One thing, though. Be Gentle isn't the title -- One Day is. The be gentle was just the header for the entry, since it was my first UNCLE story. Guess I'll have to be more careful about that.
