Fireworks by Lonelywalker (PG-13)
Fandom: NCIS
Pairing: Leroy Jethro Gibbs/Donald 'Ducky' Mallard
Author on LJ:
lonelywalker
Author Website: World On A Wire
Why this must be read:
Fireworks is a fun little slash story set on 5th November. It has Gibbs and Ducky in Ducky's bed, and the kids making a fire in Ducky's garden, humour, affection and good dialogue, a confused and bemused Gibbs, and just works so well. Short but sweet and tender, good characterisation and really funny in parts.
Gibbs suddenly became very aware that he was crouching on the floor, entirely naked, with a rather guilty expression on his face. “Did you know there’s a huge fire outside?” he asked, straightening up and moving away from the window. He didn’t want DiNozzo or any of the other agents to whip out a camera. Even though his team had more than half an idea what he might be doing in Ducky’s bedroom, he had no wish for them to have any of it immortalised on film. Kate’s indiscretions during Spring Break had been bad enough.
“Well, of course.” Ducky pulled him down onto the bed. “Unless you’re talking about burning crosses, in which case it must be the Ku Klux Klan again.”
