Why this must be read:

Illya's childhood can easily become an angst-o-rama, which isn't surprising given the canon setting of the Ukraine sometime during the 1930s and 40s. So I'm always impressed when a writer can approach this time of famine, purges and invasion with a gentle touch. In just a few words, Sensine provides a satisfying balance of past losses and hope for the future.
