Deriving the Prime by Pru [NC-17]

Hello! I’m [livejournal.com profile] usomitai and in May I’ll be delivering for the House fandom. Be forewarned that the vast majority of fic I'll rec will be related, in one way or another, to House/Wilson. I also love me a good gen piece, so look forward to that. There won't be any particular theme behind the fic I chose, like [livejournal.com profile] bironic did, but I do plan to not repeat authors already featured in the [livejournal.com profile] crack_van's memories list.

Fandom: HOUSE, M.D.
Pairing: House/Wilson/Cuddy
Author on LJ: [livejournal.com profile] rageprofrock
Author Website: Glitterati
Why this must be read:

If I had a gun pressed to my head and was forced to declare a favorite House fic, this would be it. Pru here just nails everything, from a narrative that crackles, to a humor that kills, to characterization that leaves no survivors. This fic makes me happy because it takes impossible situations and makes them utterly possible. It never fails to leave a big, sloppy grin on my face.

Set towards the end of season 2, Cuddy gets House to father her baby and once Wilson finds out, he starts pushing the two of them to become a couple. House does not appreciate this, as it pushes him away from Wilson. But everything works out in the best way imaginable.

Wilson smiles at him. "Come on, House. You *like* her."

"I like *you*, too," House snaps. "Why don't I just move in with *you*?"

Wilson gives him a patronizing pat on the knee and says, "We'll talk about it after you knock me up."

"Well, it'll never happen if you don't let me try," House says, sullen and annoyed.

[…] Something is happening tonight and he's not exactly sure what, but he has this vague, sympathetic feeling for Wilson's other wives right now, and that can never be a good sign. He wonders if this is how Wilson had left them, too, with well-wishes and assurances that this was for the best, that he was only thinking of their happiness, and if Wilson had given them that same beatific smile that told them, "You won't miss me. I *promise*."

*g* And we have another winner! I didn't think Cuddy/House/Wilson *could* work, but this was perfect.
