Why this must be read: Awhile ago, xoverau was asking for fic prompts. I requested Bob, because I love Bob. (Everyone should love Bob.) Xoverau definitely delivered - this is a beautiful, heartbreaking little fic.

But it did matter. They were brothers--no, a gang. It gnawed at Gerard, biting under his skin like metal shavings. To the fans Bob was the savior in their origin myth, chief ingredient in the alchemy of Gerard's recovery. But to Gerard, he was supposed to be more. He should know if Bob was in love. He should know if he was lonely. What did it say about the band, that Mikey didn't hang out with Bob anymore and Ray didn't know if he liked guys? What if Bob sat around with his thousands of acquaintances, wishing he had friends?
