Hi, I'm Kat and I'll be driving the LOTRiPS van this month. For reasons that don't bear exploring at this juncture, I'm off to a late start this month, but I'm starting nonetheless! And I'm starting with gen, as I am wont. I'll be moving on to slash of various flavors and some odder things soon, but I wanted to begin with a story that was everything to do with the bonds forged during filming and after at their most basic. Why this must be read: Everything Mira writes is beautiful, as I'm sure anybody who's spent any amount of time in this fandom knows. But some of the things she writes best are the complex webs of relationships that bind people together and their distant futures that most of us never imagine. This story is strong on both those counts and possessed of her usual marked depth of feeling to boot. There is death, yes - its aftereffects pervade the story, but that should not stop you reading. For, in the end, the message the story sends is one worth hearing - now, certainly, and always.
