Why this must be read:
I LOVE crossovers, so the 15th is my favourite day of the month. I had quite the dilemma this time around choosing between all the wonderful crossovers out there, but this one just kept coming back. When I first read What Comes Around, it had me absolutely glued to the screen. It's one of those fics where you're torn between reading as fast as possible because you just need to know what happens and reading as slow as possible so it doesn't end.
What Comes Around is the first of a couple of fics/ficlets in the universe that Paige has created. Despite her no sequels rule, there are 3 more ficlets following this one because this universe has managed to lure her in as well as the rest of us. It's set after the Pulse with Sam and Dean's history and timeline neatly written in. One of my favourite things to see in crossovers is when things just fit. The details between universes are so tightly interwoven you can't even see the seams. This crossover does just that.
This fic reads like a short episode. There is a character death in this fic, so those of you not comfortable with that, be warned. For those of you who are fans of both shows, you'll love this one because it alludes to episodes of both shows (for those of you who aren't, don't worry, it's not necessary to know the background to read it, it's explained pretty well). And it's actually a true crossover, not just a crossover of a character, or of a concept. Transgenics, ghosts, demons, fake IDs, visions, Max kicking someone's ass, it's all thrown in there. And the end just kills me. Every. Time.
So read, enjoy, and don't forget to tell the author how awesome she is.
