Honestly I have to read this one again--there's definitely more layers going on here. Where Alec is rougher ready to push back, to take... and Logan is confused, but wants. Add angst to sweeten the read, as Max deals with the fall out. I found this to be a hot delicious read, and refreshing to see both Alec and Logan’s pov.

Why this vid kicks ass: Granted this particular vid, I Like the Way you Move, is kind of self indulgent, as it is one of my personal favs, and that I never seem to tire from replaying over & over! The clips and cuts move effortlessly from one scene to the next that’s in synch to the song’s pounding flow. The quick fast tempo of the music is complimented with each clip/cut. One particular scene where Alec is about to walk into the arena for a cage fight, is hands down a personal fav, admittedly a drool moment--one of many. IMO this song fits perfectly more so than the original score did for that particular scene. If you like Jensen’s characters Ben or Alec, you'll love this vid--if they're not your favorites I'd still stand by the rec. It is a well-made, tight, fast pace action vid. IMO this vid is a keeper, one you should download to be re-watched over & over. Definitely worth your time! Check it out then leave some ♥ for the vidder.

Why this must be read: To pick just one crossover was killer, and some of you might be surprised that I didn't pick SPN (honestly I just couldn't choose) So the winner, and let me say very deservingly so, issister_wolf’s Hailing From Parts Unknown. Basically crossing Xmen movieverse, prior to the first movie Logan aka Wolverine, with Dark Angel’s Alec. An au in that Alec never settled in Seattle, but still fought in cage fights for money. This how they meet. For a short piece it's very detailed. Offers a lovely dance as they size each other up within the cage, and get to learn about each of them especially Alec. This piece gives a fresh look into Dark Angel’s world via an outsider as this is all from Logan's POV. Well written and extremely hot! Proves at least IMO that Alec really is this fandom's little black dress ;)

Why this must be read: Twins! Double the pleasure ;) OK, besides that—for me it's newly discovered & I fell hard for the lovely, painful angst. After the destruction on Terminal City, Alec barely escapes with the help of his twin, X5-493. The fic is a wonderfully insightful take on Alec’s character. Wounded and struggling to survive, Alec discovers the differences he has with his twin, Ben. I loved the details she created, Alec’s voice, the raw emotions, and the painful descriptions that she used to create this world where Alec and Ben work together to escape from Manticore's soldiers. Perfect example: Alec drifted. His war was over, his friends were dead, and his body was too broken to fight on, even if he knew who the enemy was.

It's primarily a Dark Angel fic, but the slivers of XF provide poignancy and more questions than answers, exactly as The X Files should. Why this must be read: When one actor has portrayed characters in multiple television series or movies, fanfic authors seem unable to resist the pull of justifying the multiple existences.  Within the  NCIS fandom, the most frequently explored backstory is that of Dr. Donald “Ducky” Mallard.  David McCallum’s prior role as secret agent Illya Kuryakin in The Man from U.N.C.L.E. seems a completely plausible past for the story-telling M.E.  Gibbs even remarked upon the two characters’ physical “resemblance” in season two.

I have read a couple of stories that make Michael Weatherly’s characters, Tony DiNozzo and Logan Cale, the same person, but that necessitates messing with one or the other show’s timelines, since the earlier show was set in the future.  Shywr1ter solves that problem by making the two men cousins, setting the story in the Dark Angel timeframe, and appropriately aging DiNozzo to his late forties.  A mature Tony is a wonder to behold because he still calls upon his wit, charm and way-with-the ladies, but he’s an even better investigator than ever.

Max makes some great observations about how different Logan and Tony are, even though they look “so much” alike.

Concurrent Jurisdiction covers a lot of ground--one-third case!fic, one-third family!fic, one-third romance (Max/Logan).  Great characterizations and an interesting plot.

Why this must be read:

I LOVE crossovers, so the 15th is my favourite day of the month. I had quite the dilemma this time around choosing between all the wonderful crossovers out there, but this one just kept coming back. When I first read What Comes Around, it had me absolutely glued to the screen. It's one of those fics where you're torn between reading as fast as possible because you just need to know what happens and reading as slow as possible so it doesn't end.

What Comes Around is the first of a couple of fics/ficlets in the universe that Paige has created. Despite her no sequels rule, there are 3 more ficlets following this one because this universe has managed to lure her in as well as the rest of us. It's set after the Pulse with Sam and Dean's history and timeline neatly written in. One of my favourite things to see in crossovers is when things just fit. The details between universes are so tightly interwoven you can't even see the seams. This crossover does just that.

This fic reads like a short episode. There is a character death in this fic, so those of you not comfortable with that, be warned. For those of you who are fans of both shows, you'll love this one because it alludes to episodes of both shows (for those of you who aren't, don't worry, it's not necessary to know the background to read it, it's explained pretty well). And it's actually a true crossover, not just a crossover of a character, or of a concept. Transgenics, ghosts, demons, fake IDs, visions, Max kicking someone's ass, it's all thrown in there. And the end just kills me. Every. Time.

So read, enjoy, and don't forget to tell the author how awesome she is.

Why this must be read:

This was written during XF S8/DA S1 and obviously is contradicted some later canon. Sarah Segretti shows that two action adventure shows about government conspiracies and genetic engineering are a match made in a fanfic writer's heaven.

The plot is simple: Max meets another girl with mysterious powers: she's not from Manticore, but she's still trouble. What's not simple is the amount of complicated backstory--for both shows, and extrapolating out--that Sarah slides in painlessly, and the perfect Max-voice, and the way she brings home that superpowers can't save anyone involved from grief and pain.
