Why this must be read:

rubberbutton is easily one of the best writers in this fandom, and I was thrilled when this story came across my friends list. I'm a total sucker for long stories, and at 23,000 words, this is one of the longer ones in the fandom. That said, the warning for character death put me off reading it for months. But rubberbutton handles the painful and too-often-contrived subject with haunting grace. Her characters are strikingly true to the ones on the show and her writing is phenomenal. This story may leave you devastated -- it did me -- but it's well worth the ride.
