Dark is a Way and Light is a Place by JS Cavalcante (NC-17)
I'm back, this time driving the Due South van! Most of the epic stories in this fandom have already been recced, so I'll be focusing on offering shorter (but still significant) stories from a few authors who haven't been seen here before. Enjoy!
Fandom: Due South
Pairing: Fraser/Kowalski
Author on LJ: j-s-cavalcante
Author Website: n/a
Why this must be read:
Set after Asylum, this fic offers up an intriguing backstory between Volpe and Ray. JS Cavalcante's work always has a literary tone to it and it is especially apparent here, as she (he?) plays with the concepts of dark (Volpe) and light (Fraser) and how Ray learns to interact with each of them. The characterization of Ray is also very good and the way he and Fraser hook up is wonderfully plausible. A thoughful, realistic story.
