A Good Year For The Corn by Beth - R

Fandom: SMALLVILLE
Pairing: None, Jonathon Kent character study
Author on LJ: unknown

Why this must be read:

Jonathon Kent was a character I didn't appreciate until he was gone. His sanctimonious heavy handedness with Clark always grated on me and we rarely got a glimpse of some of the choices he made to protect Clark and why he was often so overbearing and restrictive.

This story made me forgive him somewhat for all that heavy handedness because, in the authors own words, a man protects his family above all else.

Wow! Thanks for posting this. I love Jonathan stories. I am probably one of the few who has loved his character through out the show. I have always seen him as a man who would protect his family no matter what, and pity to the person or persons who would face his wrath for threatening what he holds dear. I am looking forward to your future postings.

Wonderful rec! I liked Jonathan (didn't hurt that JS was easy on the eyes), and this was a chillingly great story.

Excellent rec! Thanks.

Yeah, this Jonathan isn't really the one from the TV show, but I could certainly see events going that way.
