Court and Spark by Kaye (NC-17)
The above rating is a ball park, but I figure the hot-man-on-man sex and naughty language in this story more than earned it. Oh babe.
Fandom: STARSKY & HUTCH
Pairing: Starsky/Hutch

Author Website: you can hunt down her S/H slash here, and track down her S & H gen here
Why this must be read:
Because Kaye will make you believe you’re not just looking through Starsky’s eyes, but that you inhabit his entire body. As he fights to save his relationship with Hutch from its downward spiral, Starsky’s frustration, anger and lust are tangibly real. Kaye takes us to a dark place where their partnership must grow or die, and the results are both poignant and incredibly hot.
What makes this story all the more brilliant is that it’s a songfic -- Hey, get back here! Don’t forget this is my “and now for something completely different” month, so Court and Spark is not your emo teenager’s songfic. Don’t believe me?
Court and Spark. Hutch was listening to fucking Court and Spark. Again. Starsky let out a humorless chuckle. Irony had been their constant companion for months now. He pressed his head against the door and listened as Joni stripped away what was left of his resolve.
Jesus. How did it come to this? Lurking outside the door – afraid to go in, afraid to find Hutch out on the porch with a bottle and his guitar. Again. Afraid to find Hutch far, far away. Somewhere unreachable. But fuckable. Always fuckable.
In Kaye’s hands, Joni Mitchell's lyrics ratchet up and amplify the tension between the characters, and guide us through the emotional roller coaster ride of a relationship on the brink. A songfic that actually works – what could be more different?
