House/Heroes (PG-13)

And since I started my recs very late and missed Crossover Day here's another one.

Title: This Is Getting To Be A Habit, or Why It Isn't A Good Idea To Get Stabbed In The Head by futuresoon
Pairing: implied Nathan/Peter
Length: 13,055 words
Author on LJ: [personal profile] futuresoon
Why This Must Be Read: Because it's brilliant! It's an actual medical mystery where House and his team try to solve a puzzle and everyone gets his (or her) moment to shine. Only House's patient is a certain former nurse with an overprotective older brother. Don't mind the pairing: there's nothing more there than on the actual show and you know House would pick up on that.

“I’m Dr. Gregory House, and this is Dr. James Wilson,” House says. “And we’re curious. Well, I’m curious. He mostly just goes along for the ride.”

The man looks at him. “The other doctors already came. Unless you have anything new to add, you should go now.”

“Tell me,” House says, “why were you so insistent on taking him away before the ambulance got there?”

“I thought he was okay,” the man says. “He could walk, he could talk—he was fine.”

“And it didn’t occur to you that falling face-first from what I can only assume was a pretty high height might cause some problems?”

“He was fine,” the man says. “If you don’t leave, I’m going to call security.”
