Why it should be read:
Oops, this was meant as my 3rd crossover day rec. Er, to be honest I've never seen a full episode of NCIS, but I was immediately drawn into this Ducky as Illya Kuryakin fic becausegraphiteslog beautifully illustrates the transformations necessary in the life cycle of a spy, the psychological death of sorts in order to enter a new life. But heck, don't we all want to know what happened to our spy guys after the series' end (or even the Return movie)? It's fascinating to see Kate as the Innocent in discovering the past life of a man preserved in things left behind as well as the memories of those still present.
