I have a confession: I have never seen an episode of due South with Ray Kowalski in it. Everything I know about him I learned from fandom, and it is stories like these that have made me love him - grudgingly at first, then wholeheartedly. Slidellra's Kowalski voice is brilliant. Everything in this fic, from the very first sentence to the very last, makes me want to be Kowalski's friend. She goes from banter and headbutting to concern and affection seemlessly in just a few paragraphs, and then before you know it she throws in just one line of crazy hotness and leaves you wanting more.
