This week is developing a theme! And that theme is: the overwhelming ridiculousness of one Gerard Way.

Why this must be read:

In this story, Gerard has to go back in time in order to get his younger self to go to college so that later, he can leave, get a job he hates, and then form My Chemical Romance and SAVE LIVES (tm). Simple! Somehow, this involves nudity:

Gerard’s teenaged self had been more hesitant to take off his clothes than he had been to believe Gerard’s story about motherfucking goddam time travel, but he has no trouble at all helping Gerard take off his.

“When do I get collarbones?” And his voice is filled with enough hushed awe that Gerard has to bite his lip to keep from laughing out loud.

Truthfully, though, for srs, I would say that this story is brilliant because in the character of Gerard Way you have someone who was very very vulnerable, once, in a way a lot of us are or have been, where the possibility of failure is just terrifying enough to keep you paralysed. And so the what-if scenario the story presents hits home because it so easily could have gone the other way. We should take chances and follow our dreams you guys!!! Learn from time traveller Gerard!!!

I am loving your recs! (You are so restrained and yet informative and fun. I did crack_broom once and was uncontrollably rambly. Embarrassing.) Haven't read this one, I don't think? I didn't read any MCR in my early bandom days, so there is possibly a whole back catalogue of excellent MCR fic that I have yet to chance upon.

Oh god, I have to BITE MY FINGERS not to type type type about these damn stories. And quote like crazy. There's a line in that story that you'll see which, omg, i just LOVED but wanted people to be able to get to it themselves, you know? I'll just say IT'S THE BIT WITH THE BIRD.

I need at least 1 more ridic!Gee story before the end of the week. My first thought was the Bexless Cinderella AU but she already has a story recced on here. What you think?

I will keep a lookout for that line! My problem was that I kept wanting to analyze the stories and show everyone the *deeper meanings* and also share the entire plot. /o\ Sometimes I'm really glad del.icio.us limits me to 255 chars of notes.

Oh, that story made me want to read more MCR fic! I think it was one of the first pure MCR stories I read & loved, and I DIED LAUGHING and it was so sweet and I have read it at least three times. Yeah, I vote you rec it.

Don't worry, my niggling sense that something was wrong with the title gave me a chance to read the story once again :-)
