Why this must be read:

Another one of my favourites, this was written as a birthday fic for [info]toomuchfandom, who absolutely loved it. One of Ashleigh’s more steamy fics, but as always so full of the love evident between the two men. As the recipient, toomuchfandom said “made me... love Jethro even more. He may be a bastard but he's sweet, and a real teddybear.” The setup is just great, with Ducky needing a little help from his friend when the power goes out at his and his mother’s Reston home. Ashleigh’s Mrs. Mallard is a joy to read every time. She’s ‘not as green as she’s cabbage looking’! First time, slash.

The boys’ voices are spot on, the scenes easy to imagine. There are so many choice lines in this that I’m having trouble picking an extract... so I’m going to go with this one, Jethro knows best.

"Oh, Jethro," he said, the distress Jethro had heard earlier now tripled in intensity. "I am so very sorry. How can I ever expect you to forgive me? Please. I . . . Oh, Jethro. I . . . It's just that I am not used to sleeping with, that is sharing a bed with someone. It has been a while since I did so. And I . . . Jethro, please, let me go. I insist that I go downstairs and sleep on the sofa." Still he struggled.

But Jethro simply held on. Twelve years younger, six inches taller and quite a lot stronger than Ducky, gave him a big advantage. He held his friend effortlessly, ensuring the he did not escape from his arms or his bed. Part of him felt a bit of a heal for doing so, but most of him knew it was the right thing to do.

It certainly did - especially as I'd overdone it very badly before I read it and as such was feeling sorry for myself and hurting a lot more than usual, so this really helped - thank you.

I'm glad I've renewed your confidence in the command of the English language :-) Ah, 'that' story?

I'm so very glad to hear it.

*More hugs*

I do thank you. A night's sleep and resting helped.

Oh, good. Oooh, lovely.
