I don't really have a crossover for today, so I'm just going to go AU.

Pairing: Jeffrey Dean Morgan/Jensen Ackles

Why this must be read: These stories are a hard sell, I have to admit. First of all, Jensen/JDM fic is not a big pairing in the fandom. Secondly, they're written in second person, which turns a lot of people off, sight unseen. And third, they're pretty AU, where Jensen is a sexually adventurous trust fund brat and Jeff...well, Jeff's still pretty much himself. The truth is, *I* had a lot of doubts when I started reading the stories, but there's so little JDM fic to be found, I find myself reading--or trying to read--most of it.
That being said, I was really won over by these stories in a big way. They have a Bret Easton Ellis edginess to them that really works for the world she's created. Her Jensen is profoundly damaged, but she doesn't fall into the traps of so many authors by making him self-pitying. In fact, Jensen's conviction that he's just fine is one of the most emotionally gut-wrenching parts of the story.
All three stories are from Jensen's skewed viewpoint, butthatotherperv does a great job of letting the READER see Jeff and Jeff's actions through that distorted lens in a way that lets the truth of things come through. It's brutal and unsentimental and yet wildly romantic and deeply satisfying.
You wake up warm. A body pressed to the front of you and a large hand stroking firmly down your back, and there's kissing. And stubble.
It's pretty good kissing and a pretty good hand, and you've relaxed halfway into the feeling before it dawns on you that nothing about this is normal.
It's a bucket-of-cold-water kind of awake.
The guy that was kissing you is now the guy that is looking at you. Waiting.
Right. Jeff. The one who thinks he can—
You're on your stomach with a dick up your ass, and you forget for a little while why you can't stand this guy.
