Why this must be read:

One of the most engaging pieces of fiction I've ever read inside or outside of fandom. It's fast paced, intense, emotional, funny as hell, and has the best characterization of Chloe Sullivan, period. This is pure Chloe, Daily Planet's finest, as well as Dean Winchester in all his snarky bad boy glory. The two of them just work together.

Here's how it starts:

A hunter, a psychic and a reporter walk into a bar. Sam fought back the urge to roll his eyes at his own mental joke, and instead focused ont he reporter who had slid onto the barstool next to Dean. "So Ellen gave you our names?" Sam raised his eyebrows. "Huh. Wonder what you did to piss her off."

The little blonde in the Nelly-Bly checkered coat smiled at them. “Look, I just want a minute of your time.”

“Sweetheart, I'll give you whatever you want,” Dean said in such a way that left no doubt that he was thinking with the wrong brain. She shot him a look that said 'are you for real?' Sam suppressed a smile, as his estimation of her went up a notch or two.

“How about personal space for starters?” She snarked at him as she leaned away.

“Dean,” Sam made a curt nod with his head as if to say scoot back, moron! Dean rolled his eyes, and slid down the bar.

“So what can we do for you?” Sam asked. In response, she pulled a file folder from her bag, and pushed it up the bar to Sam. He opened it, to reveal a stack of clippings. As he flipped through them, he realized that each article had only two common threads: They each dealt with the strange and weird – and they were each written by the same reporter.

“That's me. Chloe Sullivan, Investigative reporter. As you can see – I write about things outside the norm.”
