Why this must be read: A very prolific writer,janie_tangerine writes complex and evocative stories, often dealing with neglected characters. She writes a lot of different pairings and hilarious crack!fics, but she's also the 'official' Boone lover in the fandom.
This fic, in particular, portrays a more mature and intriguing - but not less in character - Boone, helping a post-rescue, drunken and devasted by guilt Jack cope. It's a long process, to make Jack better, and it's beautiful to read.
Summary:
It isn’t really a surprise when he appears one day when Jack is really drunk; he was the only one missing after all and it’s just fitting that he’s the last. The first and the last, how damn ironic.
