Ten Years On. Xanthe. PG 13.
The name's Lil Jei and I'll be driving for the NCIS portion of this month long ride. I'm into anything and everything in the fandom. And I have a long list of recs for this fandom so buckle up and hold tight.
First up:

Title: Ten Years On
Pairing: Gibbs/DiNozzo, McGee/OFC. Previous Tony/Abby mentioned.
Rating: R for adult situations and language but no graphic sexual content.
Length: 40,000ish

Why this must be read
This is another one of Xanthe's great AU kind of fics. Set in the future of NCIS the reader finds that alot has changed and that includes the agency's number one team. For being a multi part fic I expected drawn out plots etc but that was nixed for me probably one paragraph in. It's a pretty recent fic and the ideas within have been played with before but Xanthe truly mastered the plot line and in just a few sentences established that everything we know about NCIS cannon or not was in transistion. The slash aspect is unexpected even though you go in knowing about the couple. And all the characters are believable and the voices strong. If you want a quick and fast paced angsty epic then this is it.
Oh yeah and thanks go to Xanthe's wonderful sum up of her fic above. C/P does wonder for a technological disposition. For further info Xanthe writes in the notes ---Warnings: Not a deathfic but some characters are dead when the story begins. Summary: McGee is Director of NCIS, Gibbs is raising a small child, and Tony is teetering on the brink of total self-destruction - a lot has happened in ten years… Extract: "Tony is out of control, Gibbs – you know it and I know it. One of these days he *will* get himself killed. I'm sure of it."
